Most consultants are either product designers or automation engineers. I've spent 19 years doing both — at tier-1 brand level, from a napkin sketch through to a validated production line. Engagements are custom-scoped projects, not fixed packages, because no two products or lines are the same.

01 — MECHANICAL PRODUCT DESIGN

From concept to something a factory can build.

I take a product from concept to something a factory can actually build — concept sketching, prototyping, and design-for-manufacture (DFM), using SolidWorks, NX and Creo (certified in all three). If you already have CAD files from a previous engineer, I'll review and optimise them rather than starting over.

This is the same process I used designing noise-cancelling headphones and earphones at Sony, an electromechanical relay socket at Schneider Electric, and a miniature photoelectric sensor at IFM — consumer-grade finish, industrial-grade tolerance discipline.

System integration, vision system integration, assembly line and fixture design, and turnkey project delivery — the architecture-level work behind manufacturing lines for regulated, high-reliability products. Drawn directly from architecting lines for medtech device makers including ResMed, Philips, Insulet, Intuitive Surgical, Illumina and Roche.

I work at the system level: how stations, vision checks, and fixtures fit together so a line passes validation the first time, not the third.

How engagements work: every project is scoped individually — there's no fixed-price package, because a napkin-sketch consumer product and a medtech line architecture review need very different commitments.
